POLICE: 400-Level Student Arrested For Raping Colleague.
Gabriel David, 400-level student of State University, Keffi, has been reportedly arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command over alleged raping of a 100-level student of the same institution.
The arrest of David was disclosed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, on Saturday.
According to Nansel, the suspect was arrested by police operatives attached to the Agwan Lambu Division close to the university in the Keffi Local Government Area of the state for allegedly raping the 100 level student on 9th May 2024.
“Preliminary investigation disclosed that the suspect travelled to the village where he and the victim come from. So the victim’s parents gave the suspect some foodstuff to give to the victim since they are schooling in the same institution”.Nansel said.
“When he brought the food items, he called the victim to come over to his place of residence to collect the foodstuff sent by her parents”.
“On her arrival, he lured the victim into his room and had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim.”
Nansel explained, “upon his arrest, the suspect was immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia, where he confessed to committing the crime”.
“He will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation into the matter,” he added.
