The Kwara State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Thursday flaged-off this year Zonal Eid-el-Kabir Maga Rally in Ilorin.
The Programme which hosted Kogi, Ekiti and Kwara States was targeted at achieving zero road fatality through public enlightenment camping, where the FRSC Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi and Kwara Sector Commander Jonathan Owoade urged motorists to drive with caution and assured Nigerians of adequate deployment of FRSC officers during this Ileya season.
Representative of Governor AbdulRasaq AbdulRaman at the event, the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Sulaiman Ilias, who flaged-off the mega rally at the Metropolitan Square Ilorin, acknowledged the activities of FRSC officers within Kwara and across Nigeria, while the formal National Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Usman Yasin, and the current Kwara State Chairman, Alhaji AbdulRasaq Ariwoola, applauded both the government and FRSC for their corporations in working with the Union to achieve zero road fatality.
