The Kwara state Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq today joined sons and daughters of Esie Kingdom to celebrate the Elesie of Esie, Oba Yakub Ibrahim AGBOOLA ( Egunjobi II) on his 35th year coronation anniversary, in Esie, Irepodun local government area of the state.
The Governor, in his address, said the growth of the kingdom in size, prestige and socioeconomic prosperity attests to the divine wisdom behind the choice of Elesie as the leader of the Esie people.
Represented by his Deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, Governor AbdulRazaq noted that his administration accords the highest respect and regard for traditional institutions and indeed all royal fathers.
‘Your constructive partnership with the administration has helped to mobilise citizens for improved vigilance, security in our communities, and general socio-economic development. This engagement should continue’ he added.
Governor AbdulRazaq noted that Esie occupies a strategic position in Nigeria’s tourism space and added that his administration has paved the road to the Esie Museum.
‘We are working on having strong relationships with relevant agencies, including the Federal Government, to ensure that the museum becomes a source of sustainable economic empowerment for our people, he said.
In his remarks, the Senator representing Kwara south senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Lola Ashiru congratulated Elesie on his anniversary, describing him as a perfect gentleman whose reign has recorded tremendous progress in all ramifications.
A high point of the occasion was the conferment of the traditional titles of Atayeshe and Yeye Atayeshe of Esie Kingdom on Kwara state Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his wife, Dr (Mrs) Olufolake AbdulRazaq.
