Kwara Assembly declares Edu constituency seat vacant

Kwara State House of Assembly on Wednesday declared the seat of lawmaker representing Edu Constituency, Ndanusa Guyegi vancant, following a debate on his matter after his letter of defection from All Progressives Congress (APC) to Social Democratic Party (SDP) was read by the Speaker of the House, Engineer Yakubu Salihu at today’s plenary.

Deputy Speaker, Raphael Adetiba and House Leader, Abubakar Olawoyin in their separate contributions observed that Ndanusa Guyegi seized to be a member of House as a result of his defection from the party that sponsored his election inline with section One-Zero-Nine subsection G of the Constitution.

In his letter of defection, Ndanusa Guyegi said his decision to resign his membership from APC to SDP is premised on prolonged division and faction that paralyzed the party since inception of this administration from State to National Level, adding that his political ambition is no longer assured and guaranteed.
